Spears’ busy Friday night began in the salon of Esther Tognozzi, who told the syndicated television gossip show “Extra” that she was afraid to shave Spears’ head in case she was sued for ruining the singer’s image. • Does fame drive celebs crazy? Feb. 20: Pop star Britney Spears isn't saying why she shaved her head last weekend, but some fans and entertainment observers believe it is a public cry for help. NBC's John Larson reports. After Tognozzi protested that Spears was maybe being “hormonal” and would feel differently the next day, Spears coolly “grabbed the buzzer and started buzzing her own hair off. ... I just cleaned it up when she was done with it,” she said. Tognozzi said Spears seemed to be “just there in body and not really emotionally there,” but did get “a little bit teary-eyed” when she realized her mother might get upset. The whereabouts of the hair was a mystery, although an enterprising person in Pennsylvania was selling 10 lots of the purported locks on eBay at $50 per lot. Personally I think this is a cry for help . . . she is recently divorced and has 2 kids ! And a rumoured second on the way . . .

Does it really matter WHY she shaved her head? I am so tired of hearing about her, like, why don't people just leave her alone? It isn't any of our business why she decided to shave her head. Why is everyone so interested in "famous" peoples lives, it is ridiculous. They deserve all the privacy they can get. How would you like it if EVERYTHING YOU DID ended up in the news so the entire world could see and criticize? It is just so annoying and overrated. She can do what she wants, just like we can.

Yes I think it was a mistake that's why she is wearing a wig.

I think it was bold of her, kind of in a G.I Jane sort of way. I just hope that some girls that take her as a role model don't want to shave their heads just because she did.
