Hair - December 2006

Is there anything I can do or use to to make it longer in between the times I have to shave my head? I've heard horror stories about people using Nair and other hair removing stuff without success. Any ideas?

I have short hair, it's to my chin in the front and shaved up a bit in the back but right on my neck and no matter what kind of shampoo or conditioner I use it ends up frizzy. Ever cream I've ever tried for anti-frizz has left it greasy looking no matter if I just put a small dime-size amount on my hair. Also, if I straighten my hair my hair ends up standing straight out, others have even tried to curl it and it does the same thing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can keep it smooth-looking without being greasy-looking and at the same time have a little volume with it straight? Thanks in advance =)

I've already spent nearly $100 redoing my hair in the past weeks, so I'm starting to run on empty. I've got pomade, molding wax, salon molding gum, and got ripped off on a really crappy $20 flat iron that's all but useless.

So I've cut my hair to medium length (about chin length, previously was halfway down my back). I've never been able to get straight hair, it's always got this little wave in it and curls at the tips. Nothing works!

Do I really have to invest in a $80-$200 flat iron? And even once I get it straight, my hair has a tendency to just friz out and whatever I've done just dries and falls apart.

I'd like to be able to straighten my hair down something like this:

So I've always had my hair medium lenght until recently cause i had to chopped it up. Now that its growing, i was wondering if theres something to make my hair sort of wavy. Before you suggest Head and Shoulders, Selsun Blue or Neutrogena, read me:.. I DID. So DONT suggest that. Its really annoying to see people post suggestions or answers when they dont read the entire question, in an effort to get points.

Its not that I have dandruff, or a serious issue of flakes. Its the ITCHING that drives me up a wall. I scratch my head for a minor itch and it becomes a major desire to scratch my ENTIRE head and mess up my hair. Its like i have dry skin or something, but it rarely is flakey or dusty. If it IS dusty, its because of the gel in my hair. I dont think my scalp is reacting to the gel either, because ive used it for a while with no issues. Ive also tried other gels, with similar results. Colder weather, and shorter hair (like a buzz cut) seem to make my head itch more and more. Also, when I wear a hat, it gets worse.
Is my scalp dry? Will conditioner help? A different shampoo? Hot water? Im at my wits end.... But my head itches so bad sometimes... Any idea

I want to get a perm its been over 7 months now but I had to wait until my hair reached a certain level of longenest so it would not look like I had really short hair. But today, I'm ready to have one but I found out that I can't because I coloured my hair myself at home!!I'm so sad, I only done it one time! Is it really true! Does a special product or perm exists that I could use so that I would still get a perm!?

I have decided to get my hair cut short. I have had it short before. I have an oval/heart shaped face. dark brown hair and hazel eyes w/ olive-type skin. my hair is curly but not too curly.. if i wore a bun, would it look bst for the exess hair to be down hanging by my neck.. or up so you can see it over my head.. ad if you have anyother good hair styles for my hair please tell me.. please no straightning though or anyother chemicals im not loud tooo.... :O(
