Okay, Im an african american female and have been wanting layers for a while but im a little cautious about who's in my hair. I usually go to Black owned salons but they havent really been giving me the works on what i want. JCPenny has a beauty salon but im kinda wondering, can someone white work with such coarse (African American) hair as mine? If so, that would be wonderful and save me time and money. Any suggestions?

I have naturally honey colored hair, and I want to go for something a little different, and I need some ideas. What would look good, and bring out the most dimension, without making me look ridiculous?

I got the crazy idea to get a mullet. It was either loved or hated, mainly laughed at... But I didn't care! Now, my hair has all grown out beyond the old mullet, and it's really REALLY time to get a new haircut. I'm trying to think of a new cut, something that involves keeping most of the hair... (My hair is extremely soft and silky, none of my friends or I want to loose that). Again, I'm looking for some "exotic" haircut, one that not too many people would have... Any ideas or suggestions?

I know it seems virtually impossible to have perfect hair, but I seem to have to worst hair days!!! My hair, like my skin, gets really oily and the minute I step out of the shower my hair smells gritty and dirty. Also, I straighten my hair a lot. Is there a shampoo that can fix the oil and smell, or just the oil with a hair spray specifically to make hair smell good (not like hairspray)?????

I`m going to be a highschool freshmen in less then one month, and honestly, i`m pretty nervous. i`m taking all AP and Pre-AP (for the classes where they don't offer AP to freshmen) classes, and i`m in alot of clubs...but see that's the thing. i don't want to be steriotyped as "nerd" because i`m in band. i`m in band because i think i have a future with it...and i`m really not "weird" or "nerdy" i think i`m going to try out for chearleading in 10th grade and soccer and tennis in 9th. should i quit band in order to be the popular chearleader i think i can be, (i'm not very good so i dont have a future..but im good enought to make the team) or should i stay in band because i know in the long run..it`s the right choise..(i`m good.) please help. any advice on how to act in your freshmen year would help! thanks! =]

Hi, I'm an African American lad whose had nothing but braids/ cornrows for the past 3 years. I've grown weary of it, and I wanna try an afro. But I don't want the type of afro I'd get with my natural hair; too nappy.

How can I go about getting a curly afro, much like that of one of my guitar-ripping heros Omar Rodriguez Lopez. Reference picture below:

Some say I would have to go to a salon and have my baby permed, which i'm not adverse to doing if it gives me the end results. You tell me, if you have some wealthy knowledge on the subject. Any suggestions would be great, actually. Thanks!

I want a hair style like Keiron Knightly but my hairdresser wont do it. She says she knows what looks best on me and anyway, Knightly only had the style I liked, for a movie premiere. Should I go somewhere else? I don't really want to.
