I have naturally honey colored hair, and I want to go for something a little different, and I need some ideas. What would look good, and bring out the most dimension, without making me look ridiculous?

Hard to say exactly without knowing your skin tone, eye color and features. However....

Best bets for this season in hair color that usually looks good on anyone is a nice auburn red with honey highlights. It gives a noticeable difference but won't be as drastic as say going from your natural honey color to a darker color like brown or black. Since your natural hair is honey colored I would imagine you have warm-toned features, and if this is true, a nice red would really be a showstopper on you if done correctly. :)

If you're looking for an unnatural color (as in other than blonde, brown, and natural red) Loreal Color Pulse is a really nice product to use.
It comes in unnatural colors such as purple and red, but also a variety of natural colors. It lasts 8-10 washings, and doesn't have any ammonia or peroxide. It makes your hair healthy, and gives it shine.
I have medium brown hair and I used the chilled plum, and it turned out amazing. It's fairly cheap ($4.50 a bottle), and is sold at places like Wal*Mart and Target.

when i go to get highlights, i get natural looking ones(not the streaks/ strips), and also i get two different colors; i get a color thats a little bit lighter than mine, and a color that's a little bit darker (lowlights). it brings out so many dimensions and looks complety natural! i get so many compliments on how nice and pretty my hair looks! But dont go with colors that are completely different than yours, just a shade bit lighter and a shade bit darker. ^-^
