Beauty & Style - 22 June 2007

Hey folks, I plan on getting my first tattoo tomorrow in commemoration of the publication of my first novel (of a graphic that is central in the book). On the 4th of July (11 days after) I'm going to be outside a little, perhaps doing a little wakeboarding with some friends. I'll keep a shirt on and wear lots of sunscreen (and hopefully not fall, haha), but do you think that it's too soon, with regards to the tattoo fading?

My husband has a large tattoo of a flaming eyeball on his upper arm that he wants covered up. What is the best way for it to turn out well?
Also, what is a good spot for a female to have a tattoo that is easy to hide but can be seen when you want it to be seen? (And won't be affected by future pregnancies!)

Here we go.
I have ultra sensitive skin (I look at pizza and breakout and I also get moonburn) and the sun and I are not very good friends. So naturally I have to load up with sunscreen before even looking at sunlight. I'm sick of being white and being called the "Irish Bastard"
Is there a way I can get some nice color to my skin without sunburn at all? I have a swimming pool, but the sun makes me not use it.

They always chip and break and I end up clipping them all off. I am embarrassed to get a pedicure with no toenails or chipped nails. What should I do?

im thinking about getting my lower back pierced horizontally. i have seen picturers and i think its soo cute, but most of them say that the surface bar rejects sooner or later... is this true? i want thos done because its unique and nobody i know has it done. have any of you had it done and had any luck with it not rejecting?

I am an african-american woman and my hair's length is past my shoulders. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo, and afterwards I use a detangling conditioner and comb it through and i always end up with tons of hair in the comb, long strands. Can somebody tell me why this is happening or what I can do to minimize so much hair falling/shedding? Also, a week after I wash it, it starts to shed long strands, probably 50 hairs a day, is this normal and why does it start happening approximetly 7 days after I wash it? I am in desperate need, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I have hair dye all over my hands..I used gloves for the application but when i took the gloves off i bumped the table and the bowl with the dye started to fall and like a dummy i tried to catch it and now its all over my hands....Help!!!!!!!!!

No, that's not your tattoo. That's your skin! And your skin will be wrinkly and funny-colored at 70 whether you're tattooed or not. Let's face it: every 70-year-old on the face of the earth is ugly.

Well, that's not true. Ruth Gordon was beautiful. But other than that.

Will someone please explain to me the logic in this? I mean, if you've got to get old and ugly, why not be old, ugly and colorful? What difference does it make?

Frankly, I'd rather be colorful. That way I remember how colorful my life was.

Maybe that's it. Maybe only colorful people want to look colorful. And boring people just have nothing to say.

Everyone says that I am rich. I dunno why though. They say that because I live in a mansion, right in Malibu, I have a chauffer, a maid, servant, cook, butler, and some body guards. My friends keep on telling me how spoiled I am. My closet is so big, it’s actually like a big room, coz I keep on buying clothes. If I wear the clothes once, I never wear it again. I'm 16 and am getting my first tattoo this summer. I've had a rough past and have dealt with depression,ocd, VERY low self-esteem,bullying and crazy fights with my mom(sum of which got the police involved) for 4 years and I've finally had enough!I;m seeing a therapist, taking meds and working on my inner self and I finally feel like me again.. Everybody is telling me what a change. I wanna get a tattoo of an angel wing just above each ankle to represent freedom from my past and being a free spirit. I looked at sum pics and I love it, but does anybody have any other pics and what do ya'll think of this idea?
