they have this new cooling gel stuff made just for Sunburn that's usually with the sunblock. It's called Cool Aloe I.C.E by Hawaiian Tropic. It's kind of a blue-green color and has bubbles and kind of looks like hair gel. I had to put it on my boyfriend last week because he got sunburned really bad at work and looked like "Lobster Boy":p. But it really worked, though. He said it took the sting out right away, and he started to tan the next day. And his burn was BAD, all around his neck, his whole face, all over his arms, but that worked for him,so it should work for you.

Pretty much any treatment is going to sting with a burn that severe. I would go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist what they recommend but I'm pretty sure just about anything is going to sting.
Are you using real aloe vera from the plant or is it a product? Aloe Vera from the plant directly usually stings less. Some of the over the counter aloe vera products have preservatives, dyes and other things in them that can contribute to the stinging. I would get pure aloe vera directly from the plant if possible.

Warning: DON'T put any thick cream or ointment on your nose, because it will really hurt when you try to get it off.
1] make cold compress of ice in plastic ziploc bag, wrapped in thin cloth [ like a dish towel ] and hold compress on for 20 min.
2] while nose is numb, use aloe vera gel.
3] next hour, put wet squeezed teabag for 20 min. [ note: tea will stain your clothes, make sure bag is wrung out well ]
4] take 2 aspirin every 4 hours [ reduces pain and inflammation ]
5] next hour, use ice again, etc.
P.S. are you using just aloe vera gel? not lotion or cream? because it shouldn't really sting. The best stuff is plain gel from the health food store.

The only thing I could suggest is aloe vera gel, but since that stings you, maybe you can put an ice pack on it. It'll cool it down and hopefully numb it a little. You could also try Vaseline or any other petroleum jelly.

although aloe vera stings, it still would probably be the best thing for your peeling sking, and stay out of the sun so that it wont get more sunburned. remember to use sun block next time!

Believe it or not, over the counter witch hazel is the only thing I could use to make mine feel better... I just got the worst sunburn of my life 5 days ago and the only thing besides Tylenol and Advil that relieved any pain was witch hazel. It's very inexpensive and you just blot with a cotton ball!! Please let me know if you use it and how it worked for you!

Go to your local drug store and just pick up some basic cooling gels, they are very cold at first but they soothe the skin and stop the pain. Good Luck!

first of all, wow i hope you had a good time on vacation. you could probably use anything with aloe in it, or a burn ointment. if it gets really bad, go to your doctor because bad burns can lead to skin cancer.
