black is a bit too dark colour for summer and baby party. get something lighter or brighter, its a party remember. u dont wanna look all serious and moody in black. im sorry if ur offended but its my honest opinion

since it's summer i would say wear a light dress--its comfortable and classy
a dress is already more formal than a jeans skirt so you don't have to wear fancy heels or jewlery
