Hi there! I am going to Lapland (Finland) next month and planning to see and photograp Aurora (northern lights). Unfortunatly I only have a cheaper camera (Nikon coolpix S4) with 10* optical zoom, 6 mega-pixels, lens: F=6.3-63 mm (35-mm [135] camera format equvalent 38-380 mm)
Any opinions or suggestions what settings I should do to take the best possible pictures of Aurora???

I'm still in high school, and I don't know what I want to be for sure, but I'm very intrested in photography. With the pressure to do well academically to get into college they put on us nowadays, I was just wondering what it's like. I'm not avoiding becoming a photographer becuase I want to take a safe road, I'm willing to take chances, but I just want to know some of your personal experiences.

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a good digital SLR. I want all of the manual controls of an SLR as well as the ability to swap lenses if I need to.
I'm looking for a digital SLR that can also take great digital movie files e.g. 640x480 pixels or higher & most importantly, it must be able to capture at 25 and/or 30 frames a second.
Any ideas?

All the sites that I have discovered, have a catch. After you go through the trouble of trying to submit a picture. They then tell you, one can submit so many pictures for free, AFTER you "subscribe to this or purchase that"
Would like to find a true "baby picture contest without any catches".

I asked a question earlier. This is kind of similar to that question. I asked, “Are you allowed to take pictures of strangers without their permission?”

My second question is if you do take a picture of someone without them knowing… could you show it in an art show or display it somewhere?

I really don’t know much about photography.
