I am looking for photographs that changed our culture or how we see another culture and I need to know how it changed our culture

Photographs are records and cannot change culture; they merely capture it. Try checking out the work by Dorothea Lange who did an amazing job capturing dust bowl/depression era.

The most defining photograph that changed modern culture was the first picture of the Earth from the Moon, It made us realize our home is a spaceship, don't F it up!

A famous American photographer documented the clean up of the aftermath of 9/11. Personally, i think these fit the question. It changed how a lot of Americans felt about themselves/their security and how they felt about Islam. The problem with the latter is it was usually for the worst, invoking racial and religious hatred (I'm a Muslim myself, so i have learnt first hand). One step forward, two steps back i guess.
