About the art:
Nathan Janes has announced the recent completion of a pop art painting celebrating the upcoming 80th Academy Awards to be held in February of 2008. With increasing numbers of movies being produced with dogs as the leading stars, particularly this year, Janes says he was inspired to portray the link between dogs and Hollywood. The painting, titled "Rose," features the highly recognized "Oscar" kept company by a fashionable terrier somewhere along a star-studded red carpet. The painting is characteristic of Janes' Pop ARF style in that it combines a vibrant depiction of what could be a the star of a blockbuster with a pop culture symbol of today.

It's been a month or even longer since I've touched canvas or painted or written anything really good. I used to get ideas and paint and write much more frequently than now. I look back at my old work and feel like they are SO much better than the art I do now. Feel like nothing inspires me these days, totally have no muse to work on.

I know this could just be an 'artist's block' phase, but is it possible to completely lose touch with being inspired, is it possible that I may never paint or write as well as I did again?

Will latex paint stick to plastic wrap (the kind used for covering books, notebooks, etc.)? I have a choice between cardboard or plastic wrap, and plastic wrap seems more durable 'coz I need to wrap it around a drumset. Thanks!

A lot if they can be used as application technics while doing abstract art.

This may not be 'great art' but it's certainly fun to do, creative and lets the imagination run free:

(You can click on the stupid thing to enlarge, but not enrage, the image to see the details.)

What odd-ball ‘tools’ have you used to effect certain results? Anything really weird or unusual that was capable of producing really cool effects?

I don't know a lot about painting, but his paintings don't technically seem to be as great as those of others like leonardo da vinci, or michelangelo, or rembrandt, or monet, etc etc. i don't know, maybe it has something to do with expressionism, or some technical aspects that i am missing.

Lots of artists helped to make the cabinet. A cabinetmaker made the frame, a metalsmith made the bronze parts, and an ebeniste made the wood decoration, called marquetry, on the surface. WHERE WAS THIS CABINET MADE?

The period when this cabinet was made. It was made for King Louis XIV of France. When was it made?

I need to know where to get the packing supplies, and how to pack it safely so it doesn't get torn or anything like that. Also, how long should it dry (oil/acrylic) before it can be packed for shipping, so it doesn't get any weird impressions on the surface? And lastly, what is the best service to use? (It won't leave the USA.) Thanks for any advice, as I'm pretty concerned about my masterpiece!
