I asked the question "does bastract painting have a future" in a post a few days ago, I should have been more clear. I meant to ask whether or not you think non-representational painting has a future (for example: color field paintings, drip style, etc...)

I am a new painter and I'd like to show my work in L.A. I paint on large canvases, but I wasn't sure how many I would need to really make a good show. I was thinking 25 large paintings. Any ideas?

My friend has a painting that I guess would be considered an "American West" type of genre. It is of a burly bearded man with horses and trees i think in the background. We researched and found that G. Bogard may be a pseudonym, G may stand for George and this man may have been friends with George Catlin, an American artist in the 1800's. Any help would be great.
