I have an oil painting, 1,3 by 1m, which is an impressionistic picture of horses galloping through water. At close vision, the painting is only a jumble of strokes, but further off, it depicts the most amazing scene of stallions (guess) thrashing through water.

I have been searching for an artist who signed this painting "Cadwallader '74" but have only come up with William Cadwalleder whom is a current artist and would have been but a child in 1974.

Can anyone help me to locat the history/whereabouts of this amazing artist?

This painting looked as if it was painted between the 16-1700's. It is a painting inside a huge, beautiful building, where the people are fairly smaller inside this place. There are portraits of people all over the walls of this building, and some of the characters in this painting are going through these portraits. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

My dad has a painting in his house by a Dutch painter, the only info I have on it is that the signature is 'MULDAR' or 'MULDER'. He was supposedly a student of Steenhouwer's, and the painting was bought for about $150.00 in 1968. The art dealer told him thet MULDAR was an up an coming painter and will be worth money.
Does anyone have any information on this painter and where online I can find into for my father???

While cleaning out my mom and dad's house I came across a lovely oil painting that my mom painted about 65 years ago of a woman carrying water. I think she did a superb job with the painting with the exception of the face which needs some shading around the chin area. She must have felt the face needed work too because I can see where she penciled in some shading around the side of the face and just under the chin. I would like to try and finish the face for her and then get it framed. My question is, should I have this done professionally and if so, where do I find someone qualified to do this? Also, how do I clean the painting? It's a little dusty after all these years.

This painting was on the living room wall at my grandmothers' house and it scared me as a five year old (just like my grandmother did). It shows a woman holding her child and they are being transferred via a rope into a lifeboat below. They are halfway between the ship and lifeboat and they are in tremendous peril. The painting is darkish and the seas are rough. The ship is a steamer and I'm guessing the era is early 1900's. The life boat has men manning the oars and others holding the lifeline and reaching out for the mother and child. There are people at the rail of the ship and some are helping with the transfer and some are watching. The painting is cropped so only the side of the ship is seen, fairly close up. Close enough so you can see the expressions on the faces of the people involved. Size of the painting roughly 36"w x 24"h. Painting is not a Zichy or a Claxton. Thnks & rgds.

In the movie "The World of Art" by Edward Bissell is a completely made up book, but the works of art are real. There is one picture where the women is resting (according to Mr. Johnson), but crying (according to Betty Parker). In the caption it claims the work of art is "Women stretched out with arms under neck on a red bed" by Pablo Picasso, but whenever i search for this work, it appears it doesn't exist. What is this piece of art, and where might I find it?
