My dad has a painting in his house by a Dutch painter, the only info I have on it is that the signature is 'MULDAR' or 'MULDER'. He was supposedly a student of Steenhouwer's, and the painting was bought for about $150.00 in 1968. The art dealer told him thet MULDAR was an up an coming painter and will be worth money.
Does anyone have any information on this painter and where online I can find into for my father???

There is only one painter who seemed to fit your criteria; you'll find info about him at the first link.

The second link is to an artist who is too young, but double-check with your dad about dates.

P.C. Steenhouwer's art is seen at auction occasionally. If you would really like to know how much your painting is worth, please contact your insurance company for the names of reputable art appraisers in your area. Be sure to ask if there are any charges involved! Some places charge a percentage, others charge a flat fee. Make sure you understand what money, if any, is going to be involved.

Good luck!

As a side note: many galleries and agents will tell people that they should buy a particular piece of art because it is from an "up and coming" artist. This is really true because they don't put artists' work in galleries if they're lousy. Unless the artist is somebody's relative!
