What kind of paint should I use? Acrylic or fabric paint, and do I need to dilute it? Also, do I paint the rubber part as well, or use permanent markers for that part?

Anyone experienced with painting sneakers? My sneakers are beige. I don't know what possessed me to purchase them in the first place.

So, if I purchased these paintings do I own the right to reproduce them lets say on t-shirts, publications, calendars, internet postings, or whatever....am I the sole owner of the copyright?

And if someone else is copying my paintings or the image of the painting in any fashion do I have legal remedies against them?

I once saw several paintings in a mall kiosk by a particular artist. Of course, I can't remember his name. They were very whimsical, almost cartoon-like paintings of children. Most were playing musical instruments, but I remember one of children in a hot air balloon. The colors are very vivid and bright, and the background is very neutral. I believe they were oil paintings, but I won't swear to it.

I've tried numerous searches, but I can't seem to find a gallery that will let me search through multiple artists. I believe he is still alive (I saw the painting just four years ago).

If you can give me an idea of who he is, or even direct me to a good website I can search, I'd greatly appreciate it.

We have 2 original paintings that my husband's aunt had done in germany in 1952. The signature is hard to read, but that is as close as I can get. They each have a ship 3 huge masts. Can anyone give me any details on them?

How many of you have ever painted a painting as a way to pay tribute to someone, alive or dead? I’m just curious. Was it a relative, a hero or some kind? Someone who somehow inspired you in some profound way?

Sadly, I’ve only painted tributes two times. The first one (and the first painting I ever sold) was from a photograph of Miles Davis on stage performing at the Newport Jazz Festival. Then several years ago, for some weird reason, I painted the one that I’ve posted a link to here:

http://pics.livejournal.com/unmired/pic/0003ydrg/g16

Yes, I know it seems cartoonish and not like anything else I’ve ever painted. But if you can figure out who it’s a tribute to you’ll understand why I painted it this way. By the way, I’m working on a large painting now that pays tribute to the folk music scene from the 1960s. Wish me luck because I’m not sure if I can do the subject matter justice. If always makes me a little nervous when I’m tackling something I haven’t tried before.
