you are asking a visual question, this will require a picture link. Otherwise we will be unable to give you much info. Some of the things you need to give in your question are, the size and media it is executed in. Its apparent age and condition. Even the frame,if it is original to the work, can give some clues as to age and origin. Other than casually, the subject of a common still life is not much help. Also, how do you know that the artist is German? My usual sources don't provide any reference for the name.
