I have a comment and idea-- Yes you would have to sell it if you put it on eBay . However eBay has an option that you can set a reserve. the buyers cant see this reserve. the seller controls it. its the least amount of money you will accept before you sell.. It can be 1,000 or 2,000 whatever you are happy with. they have to keep bidding until they get to it if they dont get to it you keep it. Maybe you put your painting on eBay with a really really high reserve one that if it did sell for such a high price you would be happy. I know that people will pay allot for something if they really like it . My mother paid $4,000 for a porcelain doll on eBay. Though really pretty that's allot.. Buy doing this you may find out what the public thinks of your work and what they might be willing to pay. I dont believe their is a fee from eBay until you sell something. you also can keep re-listing for free until it sells. Then you pay them. I'm not sure the amount but its not much under $20.00 I think . Good luck

Yeah, it is! And $25 really isn't all that bad, I've seen it for a lot more! And I wish someone would kill this "one coat coverage" thing! A paint job never looks as good as it can without two coats; it just ain't gonna happen! The better paints also last longer, scrub/clean better so you're not doing the job over in a couple of years. Are you going for a big change in color with your current projects? From dark to light or vice versa? That always takes at least 2 coats. When going from dark color to light it does help to put a coat of primer on before the new paint. It will take less coats and you'll have a better looking job and longer lasting one in the end. And primer IS cheaper than paint. I have also seen people have their primer tinted dark (stores do it free) to lessen the number of coats needed for some of the rich colors popular today.

Perhaps you start looking around your town for an Art Center that will let you put your work on display, at least until you are known more, this way your painting are worth more. I'm an artist my self, and I thought about selling my original work, but I think is worth more later when you go around showing your work and people will start to wanna buy your stuff, then you ask how much they offer you, then if it's good for you then you sell it.
Good Luck!

if you post your images on Photobucket then make a post similar to this one describing dimention and materials with a link to the image the people on yahoo might be able to give you some estimates as to what they think it's worth /what they would pay.
there are also other websites such at conceptart.org where people would offer critics of your work, offer suggestions and maybe give you advice on priceing.
good luck.

My simple answer is that your paintings are worth whatever someone will pay you for them. Don't sell yourself short, though. My wife charges $1.00 per square inch for her originals. I just had a thought: why not auction yours on E-Bay!?
