I'm in the mood to paint, but have no idea what to paint. I kind of wanted to do something for my fiance for Valentine's day. Ideas? or what inspires you when you are stumped on what you want to paint?

When I run out of inspiration I would look around me, review old album photos, or start drawing ... anything that falls under my eyes. Now for Valentine day I would look at Raymond Peynet, the second site I give is in French but you can translate it. If not click on the heart in the middle you will see his best drawings.

The best way I've found is to look through magazines or at photo sites on the net and get some inspiration. Also, if you fiance has a favorite activity, sport or place to visit, that might be a good place to start thinking of ideas. Anything you do, though will be right since it comes from your heart!

Yes, painting a picture of your fiance is a good Idea but if you see him all the time you may be kind of uninspired. Try thinking of you favorite feature about him then try and capture that in the painting. It could be in an angle or profile or in a certain look he gives you.
What does he look like when he's sleeping? That would be cool. What do you think?

If I could paint I would paint something that reminded me of what love means with the love of my life. we enjoy Fine foods, good wine and travel so something that incorporated the things we do together would be what I might make as a gift. Since you are about to be married maybe something that commemorates how you met or a special memory - I am sure whatever you paint will be perfect.

If you have a picture of your fiance' look at it and see if anything inspires you. If it does, then you can them that I was looking at you picture and was inspired to paint.
