I think you can tell the type of photographer most of the time by the camera bag colour and type do you think this is also?
Press - Black
bird watcher - brown
semi pro - green or blue
are we groomed to act in a style to fit in? the bag has nothing to do with the photos?

I have a number of 50 year old family photographic negatives. I purchaced an Epson Photoscanner (which scans negatives) to scan these. Unfortunately the negatives do not fit into the film holder and I have no choice but to scan them in the negative, then attempt to reverse the negativity using one of the photo programmes.
Any suggestions for doing this would be most gratefully received

I so want to take good photographs of my ball jointed doll, and saw great photos over flickr, and I think I read somewhere about using styro, and those almost clear plastic bags (whitish and almost transparent bags).

How do I use them? Like where should I place them and what are they for?

I see a lot of offers to make custom online digital photo books--for example on Snapfish, MyPublisher, Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery, etc. All the products seem similar so I'm wondering if there's a company doing this for them on the back end. I would like to order 100-200 of these books (that many copies of the same book) and am looking for the best possible price. Does anybody know?

I just went outside at 1 AM to see what ISO 6400 was like. I took a shot of the moon - hand held - and then turned to take a picture of my car, which I could barely make out in the viewfinder. No, it's not ready for prime time, but I have no idea how the camera got ANY image in the dark. Neither image is down-rezzed - merely cropped for your convenience. View at "Original" to evaluate.

I also did a 100/200 comparo for Antoni in this group. It was just hand-held using auto everything, because I'm freaking tired!

I just thought of this, but I got into photography because...well I just thought it would be cool. Before I got my first SLR, I mostly would sketch, paint and what not. Now, I carry my camera where every I go. It gets kind of bulky, though. Oh, well.

This is from the D300 at ISO 6400. It is cropped, but otherwise untouched in any way.

Without a flash...

If the iso is too high, the photo will be grainy.

Any suggestions?

We recently had a portrait done of my siblings, spouses and children for our parents. The resulting portrait- on canvas and print- came out with my daughter's eyes half closed and me with a horrendous double chin-which I've never ever had in a portrait, it's not a natural feature. My sister is saying that's not the photographer's responsibility, and I am saying it sure as heck is, otherwise I'd go to Sears. Who's correct here? I mean, isn't it their responsibility to make sure they have a good capture? She barely took but maybe 3 pictures, with all of us looking down at her- which i believe may be the culpret- but still, we had 2 proofs to choose from, both practically identical. If it isn't their responsibility, then possibly is this what deciphers the good from the great photographers out there? Because her other work is good, though I didn't see more than a family of 4 in her work, but mine was awful. Print quality was superior, but what good is a superior print of an awful pic?

I'm still an unexpierenced photographer. I mostly do it for a hobbie. I mostly just play around with my camera. I'm wondering what do you think? Any potential? Thanks & Happy Holidays!

I have been editing a few of my pictures and was wondering what other people thought of them.

This one was scanned, so it is not as focused as it was on the actual print:

I have been working on this one for a while.

Thanks!
