Keep at it. Great energy.
Cliche images with suspect color balance issues will not earn you fans or dimes.

Fantastic. Thank You for sharing. I like this one plenty, I can feel the spines...too Cyan and DOF issues...

They are good for a new hobbyist.
Some things you might want to try, is working on your perspective. When you find something you want to photograph, think to yourself, "self, what can I do to make this an even better photo??". So try changing the angle your shooting from. Get higher, or all the way on the ground. Shoot from the sides so that your including more background, or foreground, using them as a secondary subject.
Get some books on photography in general, lighting, composition, and anythng else you can get your hands on. Librarys have a lot usually.
Use lighting when necessary, but try to stay away from on camera flash if you can. Use whatever extra light you can, to fill in dark spots. Practice shots with more contrast.
Shoot closeups (macro mode), and from different distances, just to see the effects from shot.
Depending on the kind of camera you have, try out all the various tools and modes it has, and get to know them well.
And have fun.

I like the third and fourth one. They show more creativity than the others. The second one is good as well, but is very dark, which ruins the effect. The first one is not very eye catching, but even I have trouble with landscapes. I would redo the last one. It is way to out of focus.
Great start! You can only get better!
EDIT
After looking more at the first one, I realize that all you need to do is adjust the contrast. That will really improve it.

Keep it up! I like the 3rd pic, the real closeup of the prickly cactus. It has personality. The others are mostly stuff I could take with my own camera, but still kinda pretty.
Keep practicing shooting stuff that you feel a real connection to. That's when it turns into art. Not bad for starters!

you're getting the idea. i've got some advice for you here - learn photoshop! all your photos need contrast and a little bit of photo editing, then they'll be twice as good!
#1 uninteresting, really didn't like this.
#2 great colours and lines. like i said, it needs more contrast. a little blurry too.
#3 i see what you're getting at. needs more contrast though!
#4 the cracks and holes are giving this visual appeal! my favourite of the lot. but, crop away the right area, it distracts the eye, and again, needs contrast.
all this points to............. some basic photoshop skills!
keep going!

Yes everyone has potential. Learn all you can about the craft. The more one learns the more one learns there is more to learn - my experience anyway.
For sharper images use a tripod.
Learn and practice, do a course if your keen to learn fast.

#1: No visual impact at all.
#2: The 'standard' rose shot, with very little sharpness - unless you intended it to the blurred. The composition is 'standard beginner' and is devoid of the necessary elements to create visual power.
#3: Very busy and there appears to be no central 'core subject'
#4: Is this what the previous one was? A little better but there is no 'Wow!-factor'
#5: The 'standard beginner' shot again. I see this so many times that it is now so very boring. As you say, it is a foul-up, as you did not focus properly. Delete and try again but where is the interest in seeing a head behind a camera?
Potential? As what? As a photographer of any merit, none.
Harsh? You did ask and all you get is honesty, otherwise you live a delusion?

IMO you're doing just fine. More practice and experience will sharpen your skills.
NOTE: Ignore any comments by "DRAGGON" - I think he'd criticize mom, apple pie and baseball given the chance.
