You all constantly amaze me with your helpful answers, and generosity in sharing your knowledge.
I've just been reading back on some Q's and enjoying the A's very much, and wanted to say...

Seriously, it's the wrong season for Luna Moths, and I truly forgot about the one my ex found and freaked over, the look on her face was priceless though...

Yes there are many who are extremely helpful. There are a few use it as a place to bring their issues which is not helpful.
There are some working pros on here share their knowledge and some who aren't pros who are just as valuable.
I have meet many great people here and are very grateful for it. I enjoy mostly the younger ones with great attitudes who ask lots of questions, they are polite and it's so wonderful to enjoy their progress.
Shame the negative ones don't appreciate everyone has to start somewhere, those that abuse 15 and 16 year old young adults by being abusive really annoy me.
Those that give and nurture attract me like a moth to the light, they deserve the thanks of all.

As a wanna-be and a fringe dweller with technophobic tendencies, I never cease to be amazed by the patience and generosity of these people.
It's a really interesting mix of personalities and skills (or in my case lack of skills). I don't quite fit in and I'm probably just a nuisance on here, but the great people keep me coming back. The painting crowd are very uninteresting, there are a few that I like but the majority are dead boring.
I have a number of friends in the "real world" who are pro-fotogs. This is the first time I've thought about it long enough to realise that and put it together with my experience on here. Why do fotogs make such good buddies ?? Could it be the darkroom chemicals that create more personality ?? Just a theory !

I've enjoyed it. I have all but abandoned my first and second interests here in favor of the very nice atmosphere and friendly attitude that I have found in this section. I think it HELPS that it is a few clicks down from the top menu, so it is a little bit harder to find! Once I found "Cameras," I didn't look any further for anything to do with photography.
As others have said, I've learned a lot and met many people who I consider to be great friends.
And by the way, not only am I a musician, I used to be a certified welder, too!

This is a great section, and I consider many of the regulars here to be my friends as well as knowledgeable contributors. I wonder if a good many wouldn't be great teachers in a classroom setting. Some have a knack for explaining things in a clear, understandable way, and LOADS of patience.
Happy New Year to everyone! May 2008 hold the best of times for us all.

I agree. That is why I like to ask questions in this section. You get well thought out answers. But every once in a while, you can get those jerks that never have anything nice to say.
You give great answers as well.
PS. Did YOU put any moths in the freezer lately?

It's just you.
Kidding!!
What I love about the folks here at Yahoo Answers is that if you ask a question with a true desire to learn, you will recieve a wealth of knowledge from this awesome community of wonderful and immensely talented people. The smart alec answers are usually only given to those who want to be lazy, squishy thinkers and have stuff done for them, and to be honest, those people deserve those types of answers.

It looks that way. There is some great info sharing going on. There are a lot of strange ideas about but it seems to be helpful to many. I missed your question regarding teaching so..................try it you might love it, nothing ventured nothing gained. Some said very good things about you, from their comments I would say your students will be blessed!!

I agree completely. I enjoy reading the actual photography questions and the answers. Its good to see people openly sharing their knowledge and experience.
There's an old saying about knowledge: "You can't keep it unless you give it away".

I totally agree! This is a pretty awesome bunch.
I wonder how many years of experience it would add up to if we could combine it all into one huge database.

I agree, the Photography section is one of the best I've seen. The others are full of angry people and idiots. I'm one of them.
