I am working with a photographer that is going to do my modeling portfolio for free to post on his website but he said he would put my pics on this website where anybody that needs a model just goes in and purchases the pic. No idea where it will end up.

Is this normal for a photographer to do?
Is it recommended that I let my photographer do that???
Is it ok for my modeling career?

Please give me all the info you can... I am all new to this.

Thanks!

Photographs have always been dependent upon technology whereas creativity for the most part exists independently of any technological advancement. Yet many photographers that I have met or listen to equate technological advances in photography, in particular digital photography as a threat to their job security. But could technology ever be a threat to the livelihood of photographers? Case in point. My last question had to deal with the next advancement in photography. As so many pointed out, the biggest difference between a pro and an amature is creativity and more basic, an understanding of design fundamentals, a gap which some engineers at an undisclosed company is trying to bridge . Imagine a camera that had a basic understanding of 2D design concepts as well as color theory that could relay to the user with a simple green or red light whether a scene was aesthetically pleasing or not according to basic design concepts/models.

I'm want to buy about 25 double-mats -- all the same interior and exterior dimensions, but whenever I look at prices, I have to compute type of mat, cutting fee, shipping fee, etc., and doing that for 10 different matting websites is confusing to the point I have to call some of them up to figure out the final fee. Anyone have a recommendation for a matting website? Or should I try eBay or a store?

Hey,
I'm a student in Highschool who is just interested in photography.
Well for me my 'dream' camera is one of Leica cameras.
I heard there performances are legendary.
I'm mostly interested in film cameras but, well i'm in highschool and it is impossible for me to proccess the pictures in the way i want.
Therefore i want to get a Leica M8 which contains same system as M series.
But would it worth to spend $4000 for body and $1000 for the lenses?
What would you recommend?

I am looking for a very high quality printer/self publisher with excellent quality. I read in a magazine about software you can download that would enable me to do most of the work on my computer but lost the cutting. The book would contain many high resolution photographs. Qulaity rather than price is the main concern here.

It is a painting, maybe from the impressionistic period. A young woman is leaning back in a wooden lawn chair, a bonnet on her head, a full creamy dress with lavender trim. She is gazing off into the yard surrounding her.

I'm just a beginner...I'm interested in taking baby pictures since my baby was born. I only carry a regular simple canon digital camera, and I am thinking of getting a more professional one and learn how to use different lenses, photoshop, etc.. Is there any resources that I can learn more about photography? My budget is pretty tight...is there any affordable resources?

I'd like to try stone carving, but I don't know what I'm doing--is there a way to find local sculptors for classes? I already tried locals colleges etc with no luck. Also, I know you can buy soapstone and alabaster etc over the internet and pay a ton for shipping, but is there any stone that I can just drive to and buy locally (or dig up myself)??

I am shooting my first event - and I bought an external flash and flash bracket. When I took practice shots today, many came out blurry, and some were still dark. I have it on Av 5.6, tungsten WB, but this is a ballroom with 25' ceilings. Should I use the flash bracket or not? I really don't want to use a tripod if I can avoid it. This is a business luncheon, not a wedding. Thanks!

My son is an incredible artist (drawing), and his passion is to go to art school and have a career in art. He is interested in making movies, or drawing comics, etc.
What are the top art schools in America?
He is only 13 right now, but it's never too early to start the research. He would start applying for scholarships maybe in the 10th grade..?
thanks for your input.

HUGE eyes staring RIGHT AT you (which used to give me the willies.) I think they were the predecessors to the heroin-chic style of advertising and possibly some of the anime style which portrays characters with disproportionally-large eyes.

I've tried searching under every combination of names I can think of (disco babies, etc.) and can't find images of them. But they were popular poster images, as well as (I think) velvet paintings.

I wonder if they would still affect me they way they used to. They gave me a sense of horrible wrongness, like something that was pretending to be human but wasn't.

Anybody know where I can find images of them?

Thanks!

I'm in possession of a print of a painting of Mt. Fuji. It was purchased at an estate auction in the late 70s/early 80s. In the foreground is a shoreline with two deer standing on it and a lake with a Torii gate in it. (I've been told that lake is located near Hiroshima, someplace called Miyaima Island). In the background is the peak of Mt. Fuji rising out of white fog. The lake is bright blue. The Torri is not red but rather an oak wood color. Mt. Fuji is a bright dark blue with white snow cap. The print does have a Japanese signature, with two parts to it. A friend of mine who is Japanese said that the lower part of the signature is the character for warmth/sun. The word they said sounded like Yo or You. They didn't recognize the upper part of the signature. Oh, the print came in a bamboo looking frame.
I would appreciate any info about the print, such as age/name of artist/whether it's actually Japanese...
Thanks and sorry for such a long question.
