I have an Olympus E-500 DSLR 8mp. How would I go about taking a clean clear impage of the moon at night? I've tried different things, but I get a glowing blur where the moon is.

Does anyone know where I can find a painting or image of a very famous chicano latino painting.
It is an Aztec warrior carrying a unconscious/dead Aztec princess.
It's a really popular image, I've seen it in so many places, but now I can't find a picture of it on the internet.
Help!

I have a portrait of my boyfriend and the artist signed it, and I put it in a book and there's a small rip in the corner.

I have a Canon EOS 30D Digital Camera. I am planning a trip to New York and would like to have a great Wide Angle Lens to capture Times Square, City Scapes and other sites. I would love to have one that does close up photography/Macro as well. My local camera shop says that Sigma and Tamron 18-50mm lenses are great for around $400 yet depending on what I read and where I've read it the opinion varies on that one from person to person. I also spoke with another Photographer who stated the Tokina 12-24mm is a great lens that she loves to work with. I would rather pay more for a lens that I'll be happy with than spend on a piece of junk. Thought it might be a good idea to ask some photographers since I'm just getting started with SLR cameras and lenses instead of point and shoot cameras.

I would like a large (30 ft long and approximately 7 feet high) mural painted to decorate a new children’s party place that I’m opening. My decorating budget is mostly taped-out, so I suggest the job to someone I casual know. She is a college (not an art student, so she does not need this for a porfolio) student who is artistically talented but is not a professional. She paints but never done a mural before.
I did explained that I approached her because I can’t afford a professional, but she’s a college student who is not working so she can use the money. We haven’t discussed price yet because I’m not sure what to offer. What’s the (minimum) I can expect to pay?

PS. We’re in NJ which makes a difference since things are a bit more expensive here than other parts of the country

How does contemporary art work like magazine advertisements help recognize visual strategies past artists used in their work?

I'm going to be the photographer in a wedding coming up, and need ideas on how much to charge for each picture. I have not decided whether or not to use film or digital [will probably end up doing digital]. So I'm not really sure as to how much to charge people for the pictures.

I know that if I end up doing digital, I will need to gain back the amount it will cost me to borrow/rent a nice digital camera, along with the cost of the prints, however at the moment, I have not looked into it.

So I'm wondering what the price ranges should be. I'm thinking of offering 8X10's - wallet sizes and then going anywhere from maybe $15-$80 depending on sizes, and how much they're going to cost. Does that seem like a reasonable price range or should I make it more/less? I am not charging the bride and groom [the bride is my best friend] so it's not even a flat fee and you get x amount of pictures...

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I believe I improved a bit lately in taking pics:
http://maxtulipes.blogspot.com
Could you please tell me, if you know the way to propose pictures to be published?
Exemple: documentary on guide dogs in the blog, is a reduction from many pics I took that day, and I believe could be exploited?
Thanks in advance...

It certainly seems there is. Ever since the advent of photography there has been a rift amongst practioners of so called pure photography vs. the so called practioners of soft focus/manipulated photography. On one side of the fence resides your Ansel Adams types, and on the other side Jerry Uelsman types. Although one would assume that the manipulator would spend more time in the darkroom(or behind the computer) you will find that zone system photographers or self described straight photographers spend equal if not more time in the darkroom. The question I am trying to get at is that isnt all photography a manipulation of reality in that the human eye and the camera are not a 1:1 basis and that straight should not equate or be assumed as reality. One only needs to look at the original negatives of moonrise over hernandez and the various printed renditions of the aforementioned negative to see that there is a disparity between reality, camera reality and human imagination.

Like many other girls out there, I have been trying my luck in modelling and so far, i have had several casting calls which some of them i did attend but they selected someone better. Anyway, recently, I was contacted by this photographer who saw my photos online, and he was interested in making me one of his personal models. He said I would have to pay nothing and he will shoot my portfolio and promote me to clients.

However, he did mention that he may need to see me in a bikini to know my weaknesses and flaws on my body.He promised me that no photos will be taken and it will just take a couple of minutes. The main reason, he says, is so that he knows my size well so that it's easier for him to introduce me to clients. He also says that a model should work closely for a photographer.

If i'm offered any jobs, he says that he will take 40% of whatever I earn.

Should I accept this offer?
