How can I repair a small rip on a charcoal sketched portrait?

I have a portrait of my boyfriend and the artist signed it, and I put it in a book and there's a small rip in the corner.

If you put a piece of scotch tape behind on the other side, and line up the torn edges very carefully you won't be able to see it.
