I'm in possession of a print of a painting of Mt. Fuji. It was purchased at an estate auction in the late 70s/early 80s. In the foreground is a shoreline with two deer standing on it and a lake with a Torii gate in it. (I've been told that lake is located near Hiroshima, someplace called Miyaima Island). In the background is the peak of Mt. Fuji rising out of white fog. The lake is bright blue. The Torri is not red but rather an oak wood color. Mt. Fuji is a bright dark blue with white snow cap. The print does have a Japanese signature, with two parts to it. A friend of mine who is Japanese said that the lower part of the signature is the character for warmth/sun. The word they said sounded like Yo or You. They didn't recognize the upper part of the signature. Oh, the print came in a bamboo looking frame.
I would appreciate any info about the print, such as age/name of artist/whether it's actually Japanese...
Thanks and sorry for such a long question.

Take the picture to an art dealer or to an antique shop.
Explain to them what you just explained here. They have books & can look this print up for you or can tell you a good place to start your research.
There must be thousands of prints out there with Mt. Fuji as the subject, in fact I did one when I was in college in leiu of a book report.
