When you really need to get some sleep but she (or he) won't let you? When you've got some bills to pay but she (or he) thinks the money should be spent on more canvases or paint? When your girlfriend (or boyfriend) is expecting you over but your muse has other plans? When your muse refuses to keep normal hours like everyone else?

You ever wish you could sue her (or him) or that there was some kind of Used Muse Store where you could trade the wench in for a more co-operative model?

I finished this stupid thing about four o'clock this morning. I have no idea what it means but I'm pretty sure my muse does:

I need to resize an image from 10-12 inches, 600 dpi to 16-20, 300 dpi. Which is the best way to do this, change both simultaniously in the "Image Size" dialog box or change image size than reduce dpi. Destined for the printers so it needs to be good. Thanks.

'Examine the role of photography in framing the experience of the family in the twentieth century in your answer make reference to the work of at least one artist who has addressed the personal and political ramifications of the photography industry'

Books to read:
On Photography - Susan Sontag
Camera - Roland Barthes
Pictures from Home, Los Angeles - Larry Sultan
Family Snaps - Jo Spence

Could anyone suggest an artist and a few tips or hints?

Sensible suggestions welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

This painting is at least 50 years old and was bought at a furniture store in Ada, Oklahoma. It was auctioned off long ago and all I have is this picture of it. Can anyone offer any clues to the artist or title, or anything else that could help me identify it?

If an artist were to do a painting of a well known photograph, would he get into any legal copyright trouble trying to sell his representation of that image?

Hi,
I am trying out my new Digital SLR. I am taking a picture of a person in shade, with a bright landscape background.
What settings would avoid me doing this. I know flash solves this problem and post-processing (photoshop) can also help. I want to do it without either flash/photoshop.

Can you give me some tips on how to get the faces bright and vivid colors on the background?

Thanks.

Several days ago I found a small (8"x10") unused canvas at a local Goodwill and bought it for $1.98.

Last night I slapped some paint on this little puppy and here are the results:

http://pics.livejournal.com/unmired/pic/000512y8/g41

Yeah, yeah, I know it sucks but even paintings that suck ought to have their own title to make themselves feel better about their place in life.

So, you want to give this stupid little painting a title? I'll seriously think about using the best answer.

And feel free to trash the artist's efforts here. After all, it's just a stupid little painting on a stupid little canvas.

can the art movements impressionism, realism, and surrealism, all be regarded as part of the modernist movement- or should modern'ism' only be thought of as a seperate issue?

Does anyone know a tutorial on how to make a picture look like this:

http://www.cafepress.com/strk3.132603809 or
http://www.cafepress.com/strk3.132386306

I am pretty sure its a series of filters to a normal pic, but I don't even know what the process is called to try and search for it.
Thanks in advance,

How do I get a glossy skin effect when shooting fashion portraits? Is it primarily done in photoshop or with make up?

What is the process?

Thanks!
