God created this world to benefit and sustain man. It provides for our needs, he then created man to live in fellowship with Himself. He created woman to be the partner (helpmate) of man. The purpose of man and woman is to commune with God, bring forth children and to teach them to do likewise.
People (most all people) do continue to survive after the loss of love. People outlive their partners, their parents, and sometimes their own children. People are capable of much more endurance and suffering and healing than we give ourselves credit for being.
Loss is a part of life, it often starts with a pet, a friend, a sibling, grandparent and progresses to our best friend, our first love, our first spouse.....almost always we go on to find a new friend, pet, or lover. That is not to say that the previous one has been replaced or forgotten, only that we have endured , healed and embraced love once more...........

The meaning of life is one of the oldest questions in the world. I've meditated on that same question and the answer I have come up with is this: make yourself a better person each day, all the more to glorify God and to show His love through you.
Life without love of any kind is a life of loneliness. After losing love (or the love of your life), life goes on and we, as humans, adjust. But it is not as bad as all that if you keep working at making yourself better each day because after a time, love will come back into your life.

You would have to look at this question in the perspective of every religion that exists or has existed. Each religion has its own reason or an idea behind why God or god(s) created the world.

Perhaps the real question is why wouldn't God create the world...? Why does life have to have meaning...? As for the last question, Shakespeare said "It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all..."
