I love to color!!! I am a 23 year old woman, and I still buy coloring books, and color the crap out of them! Do you like it too? Am I weird?

If so, is it because there are more material goods to be had, therefore more things to desire? Or, is this just a general trait of humans that has been going on since the beginning of time? Why do people care so much about material things/money when everyone knows that life is so short and "you can't take it with you."? Why do people value money over kindness and compassion? I don't get it. It seems like an illness.

You ever come up with what you think is a really cool title? You don’t have a painting in mind yet but you have a title? You ever do a painting to fit a title?

Or perhaps you find a magnificent empty frame at a yard sale or at a thrift shop somewhere and buy it because that wonderful old frame needs a painting inside it. You don’t have an exact idea for a painting but you have a frame waiting for you to paint it?

Example: A friend and I were talking about relationships and it got around to talk about love triangles. Then she wondered if love triangles between lesbians was as difficult as triangles between men and women. The phrase ‘menage a trois’ was mentioned and I thought up the title ‘Menage A ****.’ Now I’m stuck with this stupid, but cool, title and no painting to go with it. All I know is I’ll end up doing a painting I’ll call ‘Menage A ****.’

What about your off-the-wall inspirations?

One of my old friends has a horse. I took photos of the horse. I put them on webshots. She takes them and puts them in her album and says they are hers and refuses to take them off. I have solid proof they are my photos and she denies it. Should I call her parents or her and tell them to take them off? I never gave her permission to use those pics because I had previously had problems with her taking my stuff like that. Please help!

It looks like a painting as the figures are raised, but I understand there is a way to prints like this. I looked it up on the internet and found one difference. The artist na WHITE appears in the lower R/H corner while the one on the internet had TW on the left hand side. Any ideas on what I have. Go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/michael_js/ to see a picture of it. Thanks, Mike

I have a photograph of a celebrity that I think looks very cool (it's a guitarist on stage). I was thinking of printing up a few copies in a poster size and trying to sell them. The guitarist is now dead, and for that matter has been dead for 17 years now (can you guess who it is?). I'm just thinking it would look cool to have it matted and framed and hung on a wall and I'm sure others would like that too. I'm not trying to get rich, but I would have to charge something. Is that legal? At the show that night, they expressly allowed cameras, so I took the photo legally with my own camera. The guitarist's estate probably still makes money off his image though, and I'm concerned I might get sued. I'm not really doing it for profit, just love of the guitarist.

We run a free artists showcasing website. We are wanting to add more showcasers to it so we can appeal to a greater audience. We have tried craigslist as well as a few other free classified ad websites, alas...no luck.
The website is
www.freewebs.com/thesistersgrymm
Anyone got any ideas?

I am having a few of my photographs in an art gallery show. This is my first "real" show... that is, first show outside of college.

It is a group show and you are allowed to sell your works. Is it customary to sign the mat board of your work? I have seen it before but I don't know if it is seen at "tacky" or "commercial" in art circles.

You do have to sign it somewhere so 200 years from now, someone knows whose art it is.

I absolutely love 35mm photography, everything from the focus, to the color and to the texture of its photos. I know how dreadfully expensive 35mm film is, so I am wondering if there's any way to take 35mm style photos with a digital camera (or if anyone knows any low-cost digital cameras that do this, or Photoshop techniques)
