We run a free artists showcasing website. We are wanting to add more showcasers to it so we can appeal to a greater audience. We have tried craigslist as well as a few other free classified ad websites, alas...no luck.

Well,. this question was a great start .Ask another one like "Who wants to showcase their art on our site?" Go to our website and give name/info, etc.

I would try some free art hosting sites, like deviantart.com. They have forums that you can post, and the majority of the people there are always looking for a way to showcase their art. You'll probably get loads of replies. Also if you post flyers around art schools in your area, you should get some feedback

schools and colleges, just remember your legal stuff. if the kids are below 18. also there are independent galleries that are often run by artists themself. some as charities .
what type of images do you want.
I have had a look at your site, will look again. might add to it in a few months when i am less busy - added your site to favorites so i will find it again
