We have a painting that is supposed to be by Anatole Vely a French artist who lived 1838 - 1882. Unfortunately, it was reather poorly "restored" at some time and the artist's signature was cut off. We are trying to find out more about the artist and his works to try to identify our painting and its place in the chronology of the artist. There seems to be so little information. UNLESS YOU know otherwise!

I've just started attending a digital photography course and I've an assignment to do over christmas to take photo whilst using the skills and techniques I've learned. I am still an amateur and I was wondering what would be considered as a good subject matter?I am open to all suggestions and would like to hear from people who've more experience in digital photography>

I have just taken up oil painting and am looking for video tutorials online - just to show me some of the basic steps - it looks so easy when you see the masters do it but all I'm getting at the moment is a canvas that looks like it's covered in mud - colourful mud - and on a dark night in a badly lit room wearing sunglasses it actually looks ok

i'm looking to take a wildlife photography trip across the US. I want to find a large variety in animals from moose to wolves to bears, etc. I'm not interested in fish, whales, nor alligators on this trip. Also, any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Im a airbrush artist trying to look for a job in custom automotive painting. Im trying to find a internship or aprenticeship so that I can learn while on the job. Dont have enough money for school,(25,000$) and would have to relocate. Having trouble even finding local shops. Do you know of any websites that help you find this type of work, or offer any training? Any ideas on how to find this type of work would be helpful.Thanks.

Three days ago I asked for some suggestions about what I saw as a major problem getting the perception right on a painting I had done. There were many answers, ranging from changing the color schemes to the painting not falling into the ‘normal’ rules of painting. With this being a surrealistic work those suggestions were pretty much ignored. But to those of you who helped with the perspective problem I thank you greatly. I was too close to the work to see the obvious and you saw it for me. Again, I thank you.

The before:

The after:

The floor was tiled, the door was raised and the rear wall was lengthened to add depth of field. I also made the chairs and table larger to help the woman appear smaller.

Now, what can you find wrong with the painting?
