well its back to the library you know that building that people used to go to for information BC (before computers) there are several really good books on conctruction all with easy to understand pictures of the entire process the best is Fundemental of Construction.

Also, go to your local library and ask for books on basic house construction. Especially check out the children's book section, often they have the best illustrations and simplest explanations.
