We have a painting that is supposed to be by Anatole Vely a French artist who lived 1838 - 1882. Unfortunately, it was reather poorly "restored" at some time and the artist's signature was cut off. We are trying to find out more about the artist and his works to try to identify our painting and its place in the chronology of the artist. There seems to be so little information. UNLESS YOU know otherwise!

Link 3 : "Herbstliche Seeuferpartie"

Link 5 : Etching by Abel Lurat after Vely's "Meditation"

Unfortunately "Findartinfo" does not appear to have a record of his signature.

Link 5 says that Vely specialised in paintings of women.
