Visual Arts - October 2006

Plz suggest me some tips like : what type of paints I should use, what I'll use to draw pencil or charcoal. Should I make it multicolor or uni/bi-color?

Also a point, I had made two or three abstract paints b4, but everybody told those were all meaningless. This discouraged me a lot !

Love is 1 drink and 2 straws.
Marriage is "Don't you think you've had enough!".

Conclusion: " Love is blind, Marriage is an eye opener!"

because, he said, he couldn't explain why he was painting the things he was. This was after 3yrs at Art College.And by all accounts he was very good.
Do you think that you HAVE to understand a piece of art to be allowed to like it and do you have to be able to explain why?
Or are you of the opinion " I don't know much about Art but I know what I like"?

I am trying to build a portfolio that I can have on hand at all times to show my work and try to get the word out that I am trying to get into photography. I also know that another good way to get your name out there and for people to see your work is to get a web-site. Have any of you ever done your own web-site, like homestead or ready web? I am new to photography so I am not very familiar with the paper real photograpers or companies use to print photographs.

I have seen the regular glossy and matte and some other kind but I would like to know if there are more kinds other than that. I am sure there are.

I keep wondering if the use of the kind of paper helps the final goal of the picture taken convey its own message, mood, or realism… Do you guys know anything about that? How can I decide on the paper if I don’t have any idea on how it will look in the end?

Any references on how I can learn about this paper matter? I would appreciate it a lot.

I am looking for a painting that I cannot remeber the name of! I think it's baroque, but I am not sure. It is a painting of a woman laying on her side, nude, with her body facing away and her head turned towards the painter. She has a red(or pink) cloth draped across her mid-section?
