I'm going to MOMA and I would like to know if there are any other galleries nearby. Any kind, underground stuff, gothic, etc.

Hey Javn,

There are thousands of galleries in New York. This is a search that you can click on, see more than 10 pages of links.

Yay, since you'll be in NYC you'll be surrounded by galleries in any direction you look! I'm not sure what you mean by nearby (a few blocks of walking or a few stops away on the subway) but I recommand the following resource: the Douglas Kelley Showlist. Just google it, it lists openings for every sort of exhibition imaginable. While the listing covers all boroughs of the city, most happenings are in Manhattan. Since you're especially looking for galleries nearby MOMA check directly check out this part of the site (http://dks.thing.net/MidtownManhattan.html) for locations. Also, I don't think this is in Midtown but it's in the city and is a recent favorite of mine: Leo Kaplan Modern (also listed in the DKS), terrific glass and metal works, it'd really be worth your time to check out the current dan dailey show. Have fun and good luck finding interesting, inspiring things!
