pleading

Dark and gray,
Pathetic morning light.
No sun to shine,
Upon my fields of ruin.

I will never escape,
From the pain inside.
A pleading cry,
No one will ever hear.

Crushed, into shadows bare,
There is no more escape.
No where else to turn,
As in hell I burn.

The water cold and dark,
Will swallow you, like me.
Away from all that's good,
Like in a distant dream.

Fading, I can't remember,
Behind my never seeing eyes.
The fire we once had...dies,
Torment held by invisible walls.

Red hot lies,
Cannot shield you now.
From the dark within,
The scars that run so deep.

I know they will never heal,
My emotions torn asunder.
I only wish for peace,
And the courage to carry on.

Even though I love another, I will always have a place for Marilyn in my heart and this is for her. Just as when I see the moon I will think of her, whenever she sees eeyore, she will think of me. Good bye my Angel of San Juan, from your undercover poet.

"I've got it" said the women in the Panama hat
"Got what?" said her husband, the Panama ****
"You drown and I get the money
five years later you re-appear honey
Everyone will rejoice, it's the perfect solution
We'll call it Darwin's theory of evolution."

.........For You Who Do Not Celebrate Christmas

Shush now...soft steps...
Soft words...
There is to be a child.
Every child

Within this child...
Father of the Man...
Keeper of Universes...
In big, soft eyes

Is Eternity.
Whether Christmas
Is in your land,
Or not...

Still, children will
Be born to your
Land...
They own Forever.

Be at peace
This Night...
Every Night....

How does the notion of pleasure play an instrumental role in Shelley's theory of art/culture?

If you guys think it's any good, then I will show it to her... If not, well then I will burn it.
~~~
First Cosmonaut on The Moon
~~~
Each tiny step forward for her is a leap for my heart
I feel like first man on the Moon, as if we will never grow apart
Since meeting her I am walking around with my head in the clouds
I am laughing out loud at gravity’s struggle to slow me down
Cold surface of jagged rock that used to be my soul
Like the sun melting ice her smile made me warm
Someone like her, oh so sweet is not so easy to find
She often makes me feel like I’m losing my mind
I am falling for her… Ever deeper. Vacuum of space envelopes me
But her little voice I hear and I know there’s nothing to fear
She is so far away now but I can always reach out
See that smiling face and know Moonbelle, my true love.

It is hard for me to see the disillusion of your heart.

Though my trials are neverending,

I am planted at the start.

Delving deeper in the depths..of a slowly maddened heart,

With all hopes of your repenting,

I am planted at the start.

Reminiscent of a time when your love was with devotion...

Now it is clear to any human that your heart lacks mere emotion.

Silly dreams of happy endings,

All the while I am pretending...

Insanely lying to myself,

Hoping that our bond is mending.

Standing by your sickened fits,

While the bile burns in my throat,

Okay, I have no idea who this is talking about... this is the part of the poem and the questions that follow. Help!
“Behind the red lacquered gates,
wine is left to sour, meat to rot.
Outside these gates lie bones of
the frozen and the starved.
The flourishing and the withered are
just a foot apart—
It rends my heart to ponder on it.”

(From Du Fu, China’s Greatest Poet by William Hung. Copyright 1952)

Answer the following questions in complete sentences:

1. Who lives “behind the red lacquered gates”?

2. Why might wine be “left to sour” and “meat to rot” within the gates?

3. Who lives outside the gates?

4. How does the poet show his concern for those outside the gates?

Women

Should be treated with respect
Not like meat and it’s not right to cheat
Just want you to listen
It isn’t that hard or you’ll be dissed
Like to cuddle
Now that isn’t much trouble
Want a sensitive guy
So it’s okay to be a little shy
Are like cats always need attention and to be pet
If you think I’m wrong we men make a bet
Like to be held they are beautiful
Also any compliment is also good and plentiful
Need their men to always be there for her
Also need to hold them dear
Like to give hugs and get hugs
Anything and anything like that except drugs
Kisses are good by touching those soft pouty lips
Even looking at those curvaceous hips
A women’s body is too hot to handle
Like moonlight walks under the midnight candle
A women’s body
Hands are cold and are good to be on a warm man so I’m told
It’s too dangerous to look at her curves
But it’s never good to get on her nerves
In red are too hot to stand next to
If you say something mean to her you’ll get burned
You just got to say something cool to put out the flame
Once you do you’ll be able to tame the dame
Women’s bodies are a work of art
Just by looking at that hourglass figure so fragile and sensitive
Just remember guys it’s all from the heart.

Not to be publically critical, but in a recent/previous submission; I have truly found what the definition of ignorance is; in the first 2 answers I received.

Though not at all detered; I certainly hope others note their names, and the possible plague they might become.

Kleenex Kids

Chalky seashell
Off the subtle sands
Of Cape Anne
Sings a silent song
A graceful mare
Laboring for you,
Heedless child
Of Rhode Island Sun
A degree
A deep prodding
Jetliners
Fashion deaths
Fine cheeses
From Morocco
And Venezuela
Dropped at your feet
Plucked from cows
Used for fine meats

Just a submission; while aware of my abilities; always seeking; and judgements are taken lightly; as a mortals notion.

"Am I so "strong" as to be like a bird that never "lites"; forever lofting; soaring and "resting" on thermals?

Is "grounding" a sanctuary, or a binding upon me, and more relevant; what more do I wish for?

Certainly in the Ethereal; there is isolation; even if not "resolution"; yet one can be surrounded; and extend to great lengths; every sense they are imbued with.

Seeing always those others so bound; does it "wrench" us; or give us more cause to remain in flight?

A personal choice I most suspect; "To be or not to be" comes to mind."

In the forgotten hour
I find you in my darkest dreams
and distorted realities.
You are the dream which has no foundation
and therefore I love you.
Damning shadow,
beautiful recognition of the darkness
that was never within you,
yet you hunger for it,
seek it out in another...their taste,
their touch,
you crave and you desire and I am ever there,
knowing you through your longings and deceptions.
What brought about the coldness and the grandeur,
fallen at the feet of a woman who could be
an angel, a goddess, a shining star.
Will you cloister yourself away forever?
Who are you? What are you?
My goddess, I love you and trust you...
a symbol burnt upon your breast,
the pain and the seared flesh...is it all for me?
I need you, carry me into this world
and the next.
I am your guardian angel.

If I sing will it leave a scar?
Beauty never looked into my eyes and took me for its own.
I wanted the glitter, the glamour, the transience,
something to cling to as life lost meaning.
Feeling wanted became a thrill I never knew.
A prayer builds behind my eyes and leaves my lips
but heaven is a closed door for me.
I will extend the invitation but I will not accept it.
That joy, that pain is for you alone,
that love a chastening rod.
I wish on a star but it falls
and in the ensuing darkness I am alone with myself.
Afraid of the mirror I turn away.
I have torn the curtains from my eyes to unveil
a world that does not want me.
My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me?
Forgive me, they are borrowed words,
but the message still rings true.
I have forgotten that which I used to hold,
forsaken that which professed to love me.
She said, "I adore you,"
then raped me with her mind.
Imprisoned in my own thoughts,
feigned insanity becomes a haven.

The Fool speaks verse,
unable to comprehend the meanings of His words
yet...
understands the complexitites of his speech
Ranting to no one and speaking to everyone,
his words echo off bare walls
Words that The Fool utters are meaningless
but have meanings that run deeper than the minds
ability to grasp or ever hope to grasp
]The fool steps forward in life,
expecting nothing,
anticipating everything.
Every foot fall is met by velvet,
velvet that turns to sand from the scorns of the masses
The fool is not really a fool but a genius in disguise,
not knowingly he speaks wisdom, wisdom we are not ready to hear
The Fool is really created by us. In our ignorance we tune out The Fool
because we do not understand nor are we willing to learn or understand.
Who is really The Fool? Is it us for shunning words of wisdom spoken by who we labelled The Fool or is it really The Fool for speaking with confidence to the ignorant masses
Again
The Fool speaks verse of of brillance

Mr Kartoffel's a whimsical man;
He drinks his beer from a watering can,
And for no good reason that I can see
He fills his pockets with china tea.
He parts his hair with a knife and fork
And takes his ducks on a Sunday walk.
Says he, "If my wife and I should choose
To wear our stockings outside our shoes,
Plant tulip bulbs in the baby's pram
And eat tobacco instead of jam
And fill the bath with cauliflowers,
That's nobody's business at all but ours."
Says Mrs. K., "I may choose to travel
With a sack of grass or a sack of gravel,
Or paint my toes, one black, one white,
Or sit on a bird's nest half the night -
But whatever I do that is rum or rare,
I rather think that is my affair.
So fill up your pockets with stamps and string,
And let us be ready for anything!"
Says Mr. K. to his whimsical wife,
"How can we face the storms of life,
Unless we are ready for anything?
So if you've provided the stamps and the string,
Let us pump up the saddle and harness the horse
-theres more but no room

“Never Free”

How to embrace this place of pain
Desiring sun, receiving rain
I feel my knees buckling down
Buckling down to beg the ground

How to consume this bitter pill
Forced on me, against my will
Leaving it’s taste here on my tongue
On my tongue it just gets hung

How to exhale this toxic smoke
It wont escape, unless I choke
Live to warn of poison’s hell
Poison’s hell in which I dwell

How to cleanse you from my skin
Now with regret, I let you in
There you became one with me
One with me we’re never free

Bantam in Pine-Woods
By Wallace Stevens

Chieftain Iffucan of Azcan in caftan
Of tan with henna hackles, halt!

Damned universal cock, as if the sun
Was blackamoor to bear your blazing tail.

Fat! Fat! Fat! Fat! I am the personal.
Your world is you. I am my world.

You ten-foot poet among inchlings. Fat!
Begone! An inchling bristles in these pines,

Bristles, and points their Appalachian tangs,
And fears not portly Azcan nor his hoos.

Describe three effects that poet creates with sound. Suggest how they might relate to the meaning of the poem. Is there a distinctive tone or attitude here?
