pleading

Dark and gray,
Pathetic morning light.
No sun to shine,
Upon my fields of ruin.

I will never escape,
From the pain inside.
A pleading cry,
No one will ever hear.

Crushed, into shadows bare,
There is no more escape.
No where else to turn,
As in hell I burn.

The water cold and dark,
Will swallow you, like me.
Away from all that's good,
Like in a distant dream.

Fading, I can't remember,
Behind my never seeing eyes.
The fire we once had...dies,
Torment held by invisible walls.

Red hot lies,
Cannot shield you now.
From the dark within,
The scars that run so deep.

I know they will never heal,
My emotions torn asunder.
I only wish for peace,
And the courage to carry on.

Even though I love another, I will always have a place for Marilyn in my heart and this is for her. Just as when I see the moon I will think of her, whenever she sees eeyore, she will think of me. Good bye my Angel of San Juan, from your undercover poet.

Remember me?

This poem is amazing. It is beautiful. It made me want to cry.

I'm sorry it didn't work between you two. Sometimes things don't work as planned. And the only thing left is to move on, with a heavy, broken heart.
You've fled to someone elses protection. You've opened a window as a door has closed and shut you out. The sunlight will shine again, and theres always somone in the end.

Certainly it will have an impact. I'm curious however about your reason for writing it. No offense but it seems you don't want to KILL what you had, and burning bridges isn't always successful anyway.

Again with no offense I want to assume you're young, and hopefully you'll live long and prosper (No Star Trek Pun intended)...AND in that time you may LOVE a dozen more times; hopefully never forgetting your first.

I think you must have a very kind heart to think of how Marilyn feels. It is a beautiful poem, but parts of it were rather confusing. I also think it was mainly dark and gloomy. Try adding a few lines of sunshine and happiness, good times you had together so she will remeber you and smile when she reads the poem and not cry.

: - )

I still think thatis VERY thoughtful of you.

I really think it is sad...if i was wanting to remember...I would have written something happy...and well rememberable. I think Marilyn would have wanted you to remeber fun times, not gloom and dispair! It is a pretty poem though...if someone had just died!*
