.........For You Who Do Not Celebrate Christmas

Shush now...soft steps...
Soft words...
There is to be a child.
Every child

Within this child...
Father of the Man...
Keeper of Universes...
In big, soft eyes

Is Eternity.
Whether Christmas
Is in your land,
Or not...

Still, children will
Be born to your
Land...
They own Forever.

Be at peace
This Night...
Every Night....

You have a very soft, soothing poetic voice Elysabeth.

Thank you for this beautiful poem again. Yes, I celebrate Christmas in my country (France).

Not so much like Christmas, but a celebration of the winter solstice, when the sun starts heading back to the northern part of the sky. We do have gifts then.

Not all Orthodox Christians. The Greeks celebrate on Dec. 25th. The Russians on Jan. 7th.

On a silent night
not a sound to be heard
except a grunt from
someone stuck in the
chimney feeling like a nerd
finally dropping down in his
little soiled red suit
he's thinking maybe next
year I just might retire
but then again he says
I can't do that
I'll have to lose weight
and just not be so fat........

Yes, I love Christmas and the birth it celebrates. I also love poetry and poets. You are one of the best I know. You've made me rethink many of my old pieces.
