like the Matrix or Plato's cave or something. Does that make any of our experiences, memories, little happy moments, etc. any LESS important or real?

Think about it...

No, seriously consider this.

If there is a god at all (something which I am skeptical about right now), does he (or she or it - if it doesn't have a gender), rule by fear?

They demand of us that we follow a given set of guidelines, and that if we fail, then we are threatened with an eternity of punishment and torture in hell.

Is that rule by fear?

And if god exists, just because it created us does not necessarily mean that it has the right to set moral standards, it could be argued: morals are just a guideline for everyday conduct in society.

Your thoughts?

I don't think age has anything to do with it. I believe a mature individual is willing to take responsibility for his/her actions for the good of others. And since age doesn't have anything to do with it, in my eyes a 11 year old can have this trait and be more mature than a 31 year old man running away from a problem that he caused, unwilling to confess. Who agrees with me and who disagrees? Explain.

what do you think is going through the mind of someone who finds no reason to live any longer? What do you think could be one thought that is keeping him from simply ending his life?
I think that it is too easy for someone to end their own life, so therefore for someone to be hesitant in killing themselves it must be in what ever they are thinking (right?)

Now imagine that this person has rulled out all reasons for him to remaine on this earth. what could be holding him back?
could it be the fear of the results of his end?
in other words people who have nothing to live for would assume that they must have someone to live for ( right?).
and so this person goes around asking friends "what would you do if I died?" and "how would you feel"
Now depending on the outcome of what his friends said, which is either they wouldn't care much or they would care a lot and would feel bad if he did, do you think that this would be the last reasonable thoughts of who is about to kill themselv

Remember that emotions/feelings include love, hate, ego, selfishness, happy, sad, hurt, fear, excited, moody, anxiety, etc. So without those human race will be driven solely by logic, reasoning, intelligence, rationale, and wisdom. Roles in society will likely be governed by the individuals' talents/capabilities. No egotistical ambition. Sort of like ant society. Am I right?
