This is both a pessimistic and teleologically driven question. It is as if you ask, if we all are going to die, what is the point of living? So, we should just commit suicide. Such notions are patent errors in Western civilization where the goal is what matters (something perpetuated by capitalism).
In more Eastern thought, people see the path and the journey itself as what is to be focused on. Where you end up matters less than how you get there. Consider a quick example; do we admire more the person who with integrity and honor becomes president through hard work and dedication to his/her nation or do we like more the person who is scandulous, hateful, and mean who through being born into priviledge and money becomes president. I would assume most would like the first over the latter; however, your question acts as if the two are the same because they come to the same point. Strive to enjoy the journey; to the person walking the horizon is always the same distance away, it is only the close and present scenary that changes.

You've created a problem due to the stupidity of the English language. Practice never makes perfect, there will always be error and mistakes, no matter what. The only possibility of something being error less is a computer.

Practice doesn't make perfect, it makes permanent, as one of my grade school teachers always used to tell me.

Always aim high, then if you fall short, you will still have achieved something. However, if you never try and aim low, you will always reach your goal. But, you will have achieved absolutely nothing!
