I can understand how this situation could be cause to struggle. The catch in a philosophy like this is not to be too literal in adhering to it. 'Striving for Perfection' and 'Perfectionism' are two different things. It is very important to not let yourself get swept up in the details to the point that you are blinded to actually achieving your goals.

Stay focused on what is truly important in reaching your goals and the rest usually takes care of itself.

[add] hehe, you might wanna work on that foot odor problem too. lol jk.

[2nd add] You're very welcome.

No. It's pretty funny -- and true, IMO.

Also heard it said that with a professional task or product, you can ALWAYS try to squeeze one more ounce of improvement... the key is to recognize when another task yields more important results, rather than getting hung up on perfecting any one thing. That's for God, or maybe Leonardo da Vinci.

Human activities are subject to the law of diminishing returns -- what you put in, after a point, yields improvement that's not worth the effort. Or may even diminish the output, by overworking it.

I've never heard the saying, but it's a good one. Perfectionism is totally self abusive because perfectionists, as a rule, keep setting the bar higher once something is achieved...so in fact, perfection is never really attained. I've never known a perfectionist to say: "That's the best I can do" or to even say that ANYTHING is "perfect" in their eyes.

That makes it hard on everyone else involved too.

No. there is no longer something incorrect with being a perfectionist except it reaches the element the place you sense no longer something is passable. there is no longer something incorrect with wanting to do something properly, or aiming for perfection. the only concern is that if it reaches the element the place a guy or woman obsesses plenty relating to the tiniest ingredient that it makes them unhappy and judgmental of others. while it contains self abuse, i might say there are a heap of alternative issues that are extra volatile to the self than being a perfectionist. i might say that it comes way, way down the dimensions.

Nothing is perfect. I believe you are under a big pressure or problem in your work and you don't want to fail to yourself our the others around you.

Remember perfection is an imperfection. Take for example the human face. Is the face symmetrical? No.
Do you think will be more beautiful that way? I don't think so.

I have never heard this expression. I believe it can be abusive if you are obsessive, striving to be perfect is a good quality. If you love what you are doing, it is normal to want to be the best at what you are capable of. Just realize there are real and unrealistic goals. We are on this planet one time, why not give it your best shot.????
