When someone's sense of spirituality is so great that it acts to push that person to self discipline, self-criticism and therefore, at its presence make the individual be efficiently moral... could it in the end be more powerful that the rules a religion imposes?

Isn't it true that when someone is moral out of own ethical judgements, it holds more value than if someone does it out of fear that he will be punished if he does not obey the rules?

Where should the emphasis lie? in truly believeing that the morals we follow are ethically correct? or in being accepted in a religious society in which morals are shared, and if u follow them, then you were in the right?

I myself never thought of myself as being very religious, but my sense of right/wrong and living life in line with nature peacefully, respect and love is far more sensitively developed than a lot of ppl who claim to be religious around me.... would you classify that as spiritual?

In what circumstances would you allow another to learn a life lesson on their own rather than giving them the answer?

Knowledge

Mind, a beautiful spider, is at work.
It has woven a deadly trap.

Perceptions are painting the walls of reality,
Everyone known to me breathe predictably.
Just few sentences with them,
And, I start thinking about leaving.
World outside seems so boring,
It is mirroring my inside.

Everything smells alike,
When its not, somehow.
Life appears to be ugly,
Instead fingers pointing my own eyes.
My feet are running by themselves,
Is this really a still ground?

Reality blinded by explanations,
Or, is it my own mind?

lets say you met a guy like van gogh or some crazy artists who want to end thier lives and they feel justified in doing so because they feel like they have accompolished thier goals in life. like they have left thier legacy and feel like life to them its just routin and vicious cycle of pretension and phoniess.
what can normal people do to change thier mindset to make them believe that life is not about legacy or connecting with other people by sharing or trying to communicate with yourself but other things like getting enjoyment out of material things or doing stupid things over and over?

Whether you are interested in Moksha, Liberation, Freedom, Transformation, you name it, you are interested in happiness without one moment of unhappiness, pleasure without pain, it is the same thing"
We don't want to be free from fear. All that we want to do is to play games with it and talk about freeing ourselves from fear.
The knowledge you have of the world creates the objects you are experiencing. The actual existence or non-existence of something "out there" in the world is not something you can determine or experience for yourself, except through the help of your knowledge. And this knowledge is not yours; it is something which you and your ancestors have accumulated over a long time. What you call the "act of knowing" is nothing other than this accumulated memory. You have personally added to and modified that knowledge, but essentially it doesn't belong to you at all.
There is nothing there inside you but the totality of this knowledge you have accumulated.

born out of human thinking is destructive.
Thought is opposed fundamentally to the functioning of this living organism.
All insights, however extraordinary they may be, are worthless, because it is thought that has created what we call insight, and through that it is maintaining its continuity and status quo.
Thought is not the instrument to help us to live in harmony with the life around us. That is why you create all these ecological problems. But the planet is not in danger; we are in danger.
The certainty that I have that there is no mind is something which cannot be transmitted to anybody, however hard I may try. You are not ready to accept this statement because the very thing which we are using to communicate is in jeopardy.
Thought is something dead and can never touch anything living. It cannot capture life, contain it, and give expression to it. The moment it tries to touch life, it is destroyed by the living quality of life.

i cant explain the creation of the universe or what came before it. but to believe this entity who exist nowhere, but everywhere (i guess) created it all. i hear that the universe in endless. eternal. if this is so, how small, really think about this, are we really. if intelligent design by god is the culprit, would he care about something virtually nonexistant?
