lets say you met a guy like van gogh or some crazy artists who want to end thier lives and they feel justified in doing so because they feel like they have accompolished thier goals in life. like they have left thier legacy and feel like life to them its just routin and vicious cycle of pretension and phoniess.
what can normal people do to change thier mindset to make them believe that life is not about legacy or connecting with other people by sharing or trying to communicate with yourself but other things like getting enjoyment out of material things or doing stupid things over and over?

This is true but it neglects that feelings come from the logic of our perceptions. We live in a culture whose understandings of existence naturally lead nowhere. We have no valid understanding of existence. We can find no meaningful source of meaning. Our culture as it is currently thinking is dead already and has no evolutionary future because it has made incorrect assumptions about the nature of existence working to destroy us.
I assume you are referring to someone you care about a great deal. As both of you are part of the same culture you also carry the same intellectual ideas. The new perspective which will rejuvenate both of you is "you are made of value." That's right. Both of you and everything else too is made of the dynamic nature of value.
Because the absence of this perspective is an intellectual disease some people are not infected with the fatalism of ignorant logic. All of us have inside, as a natural perspective we were born with, the reality of our value directing every moment of our lives. What happens depends upon changing a life long affliction of accepting the intellectual garbage of a society which does not see existence as it is. It is natural one might want to leave. There is no meaning.

Well, the first thing you could is to buy this person a prostitute. That should last a little while. Otherwise, ask them as to why they would want to end their life? Is it because of success or monotony? Perhaps they should try something different. A true artist never achieves their goals. The best ones die with work in progress. They never give up on their passion. Their passion may change over time, but it never dies. If things were to get too stressful, one could always refer to the first sentence printed on his reply. That should buy some time for thinking.

Thoughts of suicide comes from a feeling, not from logic. So you can't say anything logically to change their mind. You can only be with them to get them out of their lonliness, and show them your positive example by being relaxed and happy and make them laugh. If you were to say something, talk about what you can look forward to together.

I wouldn't. We have the right to live and we have the right to die. I wouldn't support you imposing your will on them in the same way that I wouldn't support them imposing their will on you.
In a crisis though, a call to 911 is about all I'm prepared to do. A professional may be able to offer some assistance.

Bring them to see interesting things, beauty, theatrical/musical/comedy shows, antiques/movies/TV programs, bring beautiful family/schools/peers/model/celebrities photographs, or bring them to plays: like bingo, majong, ball games, or your precious companionships listening to him in the park, or knowing his fantasies and see if you can help get it for him etc. just to make everything with sense, beauty, & hope to win or hope of things to come as gift for him, or try to make his existence important as ever to stay alive.
How about that ???

but, you see, life is not about material things, and is especially not about doing stupid things over and over again. life, my friend, it is about your own journey. only you (your soul) knows why you are here, and only your journey shall take you to the other side. a simple question should be asked...how is taking one's own life not stupid? am i correct? how is one to know that it has not been done over and over again, and THAT is why the messenger, genius, or what ever they choose to call themselves, THAT is the reason they are still here. They are here to learn how to live. how to be here. how to function in a way they have not before. try that one!!
