I know that a lot of people on this board, particularly Americans are strongly opposed to cousin marriages. But don't you realize that these are the same type of people who once also opposed interracial marriage and until very recently homosexual marriages? But now, if you were to ask a question regarding interracial or gay marriage, they will all start talking in support of it. Why?
It is indeed shocking to find that Americans despite being technologically advanced, are still socially backwards and fighting age-old stereotypes. I mean it's ok if you think marriage between cousins is wrong, but who are you to police two cousins who truly love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together? The same way if you think being gay is wrong, but you don't want to force your view on two gay people who are in love with each other - right?
