It's a coincidence but very interesting one. Things happen sometimes that we can't explain. My close friend died while I was out of town and I was going over the the couple of days old news papers. I discarded them in the garbage bin but something made me take out one paper and made me read it! It was an obituary section and my friend's picture was there! I wanted to tell his wife about it at the funeral but I thought she may not believe it.

It is the Law of Vibration. You said that person was/is very special to you. Because of that you notice things that are connected to that child's identity. As an analogy: when you start looking at new cars and get an idea of what you want, you then start noticing all the cars on the street that are similar.
Your example tells me how much you still love that child.

because you were thinking of your friend, you would have found anything in their conversation to connect them with your friend so you could feel close to her, the could have mentioned her name, a town she lived in, a name of someone in her family, the date you two met, her favorite color, etc.... You are connected to her forever, she will always be with you, coincidence or not.

It may be pure coincidence, but It may be your mind playing tricks on you. Things like that tend to happen when you lose a loved one. You tend to hear things about about them that weren't really said, and you tend to see them in places they have never been. it happened to me when I lost a close friend. Trust me, and just go with the flow. don't try to go all schizo about it, just let things happen as they may, and it will all make sense soon.

Was at a club on sat and my friend was telling me about some guy she used to date called Jamie, then during the story a guy sat next to us and guess what his name was - Jamie!! Weird huh? Nothing happened between them though!
Go and visit your loved one - I think it may be a sign that they are connected to you too.
