No. I believe that the courses our lives take are a result of the choices we make and of our actions. I think everyone should take responsibility for their own lives and shouldn't blame their problems on the fact that fate has dealt them a bad card. If our destinies weren't the result of our own free will then what would even be the point in living? We may as well just sit back and do nothing!

If you believe in fate then you have to believe in destiny. They are fundamentally the same thing. But if either exist, then that doesn;t leave much room for free will, hence the pointlessness of life. There is no fate except what you make.

I don't think anyone can answer this. We make choices every moment and can say that we determine our path. But around the next corner there may be a truck that runs us over. On the other hand, we can choose what we want, but what determines what we choose? A dog will choose a steak over a sardine, but his choice is predetermined.
I personally believe that we are free to choose things on a certain level of time, but that there are invisible hands that guide our lives for better or worse. Our attitude and sincerity of purpose invites those invisible hands into our lives, and they can be good or bad depending on our inclination.

The alternative is nonsense, though I understand why people TRY to believe it despite unintelligibility: to commit to the fact that you have naught but a trivial role in activity, that 'you' don't control anything, as it were, is hardly a liberating kind of view. And who is mature enough to stand up against this romance of humanity-- that we too are fortified by gods of power and agency, being capable of making history without history, transcendental souls determining the world. If only we can spread the word of our kingdom-of-ends, then we will truly be free!

NO. I believe that God has given you a free will to choose what ever you want to do with your life. True only God knows when our time of death is but up until then it is basically up to us to choose our fate or destiny.

If you call fate the certainty that you will not reach the age of 200
years. Our actions shape our future to a much greater extent
than we believe, but obviously certain things happen to
everyone which cannot be foreseen or avoided.

No; I never did subscribe to that notion.
While I will admit that my choices or reactions to a situation may be influenced by past events, still I maintain that I am the "director" of my own play.
I make decisions about what happens in my life, in spite of outside influences which I cannot forsee.

Yes. They come in like a coincidence but it is the work of fate.We have our free-will to decide what action to take on, or not to do anything about it,accept it the way it presented to us.
