we can function on our own and we dont have to be pluged in to the wall. why cant we face the fact that we are creatures (that would mean there is a creator.)

Can someone please explain what that means? like if someone states: If there were any such thing as objective truth in ethics, we shold be able to prove that some moral opinions are true and others false.

but in fact we can not prove which moral opinions are true and which are false....then there is no such thing as OBJECTIVE TRUTH IN ETHICS......
WHAT DOES OBJECTIVE TRUTH IN ETHICS REALLY MEAN????

Do you think that in life everything that happens happens because it's suppused to happen(fate/destiny) or do you think that everything that happens occurs radomly and nothing is preordained?

I'm very curious to hear other opinions on this matter. Honestly, I would elect "Does god exist?" as the most important question, as answering such question can answer other questions such as "Life after death?" or "How did the universe come to be?" Runner up would be "Peace on Earth?" as I'm very intrigued if such a goal is possible with our current state of war. So, what is your slice on the Most Important Question of All Time?

There are people who love and understand philosophy and there are those who don't get it, try to say philosophical things and they just don't come out right?
Or people that have religious beliefs who think they are special, or saved.. or they are right.

Who is more special/blessed with knowledge of the divine:

A Philosophical Person

Or Religious person

or are we all the same because we have a right to believe what we want ??

This is another ponder question..Is there anyone that just gets up and booms into their days everyday..No aches no pains no worries and just absolutely loves their lives and has no doubts or worries or concerns about their health, friends, money ,their future or anything?

of course love has many sides. There's the serious side, the painful side, the blissfully awesome side... It's easy to picture these kinds of love. but what abou the funny side of love? I find this side to be a little hard to imagine for some reason.

any insight?

I don't think anyone can "lose faith". A lot of people get blamed for "losing their faith". Let me explain, if you stop believing on let's say Jesus, then you must believe in something else like "there's No Jesus". Belief = Faith. I think it's important for everyone to have FAITH not religion. You "lose religious affiliations" would be the right terminology.

You can't really believe in nothing, you're are still believing there's "nothing". Therefore you still have your faith in "nothing"

In conclusion, you can't "lose faith" .
If you had faith that you'll get a raise and not you "lost your faith" you didn't really lose it, you switched positions. I don't know if this makes sense.

people always say leave it to Fate or let Fate decide well who the heck is Fate????

Does 'fate' control everything in life OR do our everyday actions & decisions decide who we become in life. Is it possible that too many Wrong Decisions can place you on a dead end road. Why.. despite our better insticts, are we sometimes our OWN worst ENEMY!

'm taking an Existentialism course and would like to get other people's opinions on this subject...

I have to write a 10 page paper in philosophy a page each covering different topics, i am struggling with the first two. Question one: What is a philosophy of life and why is it important ot have one? Question two: What methods will I choose to determine what is true? I understand that there are no right or wrong answers and that everyone may have a different philosophy of life, but i learn by example and would love if anyone might share with me how you would answer. Thank you!!!!

As far as I have read, Gandhiji stood for Truth. Therefore, asking in ANY AGE, whether Truth is relevant is in itself a ridiculous question. All of us know inner peace (without which it is impossible to know what enjoyment in life is) is not possible witthout truth.

The truth is most of us are liars, and have started glorifying ourselves by our lies (See Jethmalani!). I think the question should be 'why have we become so deprave that we starrted questioning Truth?'.

Through this question I have not meant to hurt anyone, but simply said that even if I do wrong things, I shall still call right deeds as right deeds and not make fun of them.

I guess what I am asking is "why did I just decide that something was incredibly stupid and then do it anyway just to regret it?"
