nowadays, a optimist. when i was a teenager, i always looked at life from a negative outlook, and thus i was a pessimist. from the age of 16 to 18 i was miserable, depressed and felt that life wouldn't get any better. but as i turn 26 next month, i realise how important it is to remain positive and to feel good about myself, mentally, emotionally and spiritually as well. i experienced so much crap when i was a kid, the last thing i want is to do anything to jeopardise that and for me to take the neccessary steps and decisions in my life, in order to prevent me from ever going down that path again. and make those mistakes ever again

It depends if you're filling or empting the glass. If you're trying to make the glass full then by the half way point it is half full, if you're emptying the glass then by the half way point it is half empty. In which case most of the time the glass is half empty because someone filled it with liquid and put it back down once they've drunk some of it, hence half empty.

My glass seems to be always half empty. Doesn't bother me, there's another drink on the way. From an optimistic alcoholic!

Always half full, you have to keep conscious that it could be emptying but optimistic that it can be filled again. Optimist with a heavy dose of practicality is one self description, but this can create a mini depression at times, especially if you've been so optimistic that you were complacent about life.

in case you fill an empty glass and drink a million/2 of the liquid you nonetheless have a million/2 a pitcher of liquid so how can or no longer it particularly is a million/2 empty? that's a million/2 finished and while this is fed on that's EMPTY.

The water in the glass is very rarely at the half way point at all. It would take exact, scientific measurements to fill (or empty) a glass exactly halfway.
