There have been many philosophical theories and discussions on the topic. The one that has been under the most scrutiny is a statement made by St. Augustine. He proposed that mankind did in fact have free will to do as they choose, but God regulated behavior by imposing consequences on negative deeds (i.e. hell). We can choose to lead a good or an evil life, but there is that element of control over what choices you make through whichever afterlife you end up in. In a way this melds both theories of free will and concrete destiny. Though I can't speak on anyone else's behalf, I think it's a decent explanation to your question. Hope it helped, at least a little!

The word random only exist because of our limited perspective on the intricacies of life. It is not out two widely as yet, but the Great Albert Einsteins E=MC2 has now become obsolete. If no one has ever heard about Dr. Gabriel A. Oyibo's Grand Unified Theorem or GAGUT - better get on it now before it blindsides you and you're left asking, what happened to Einstein?

Everything is connected and he has mathematically proven this with his equation - Gij,j=0

random, preordained, i see no reason to believe in fate. Ive always been told that nothing controls the future except you. So i dont believe that the whole future has allready been decided for you. I think that the future is compltely random and goes off of the little decisions that you make

I think our lives are affected in pretty much the same way as the rest of the physical world. Previous events will lead to a highly likely outcome, and would therefore be somewhat predictable if one had enough pre-event information. However, there is just enough randomness in this universe to mix it up occasionally. Nothing chaotic, just a nudge every once in a while.

So nothing is entirely pre-ordained, but certain outcomes are much more likely to occur most of the time.

I think we are given opportunities to "fulfill our destiny". We are also given choices whether or not to take them. Funny thing though, it seems there is always a back-up plan when we make the wrong decision. So, yeah, I'd have to go with the fate/destiny theory. It's too well constructed to be random.

I think life has a course but you have the reigns.

Everybody has decisions.

Right and Wrong are the two paths of life.

I also believe what comes around goes around.
The whole Treat people how you'd like to be treated.

Karma.

Both occure. It's not one or the other. It's a combination of the two.

The two combine the flowing present and memory of fate, past.
