Why can't you people in the philosophy section take a joke? All you do is take everything so serious and most people seem quick to give opinionated anwers without thinking about the question. Also most answers seem to err on the side that they are right and the question asker is some sort of idiot and therefore wrong!

What do you think will happen to cause the Apocolypse? ( I just know i spelled that wrong..............don't yell at me for it!) I personally think the world will just blow up bc God was tired of us sinning against him, but that is just me. What do u think?

society has manifested fear into people, why is bringing people down so popular, survival of the fittest! if your fearless you'll move towards your goals, concentrating on the negative things that could happen on the way up will drag you right back down

i know all this but still can't acheive fearlesness, i want to go after what i want so badly but there's always that FEAR or BUT or WHAT IF

ne1 know how to conquer fear?

i fell in love with the bourke parrot (neophema bourke); I'd love to own one some day but how can I earn its trust?? They are so gentle & soft and I love thier personality but they seem so easily scared. What can you do in such cases? I don't really even dare to come to close to them in a pet shop because I see they get frightened.

Every modern guru talks about the benefits of meditation. I really do not know what this experience is. . If one's mind is free of thoughts during meditation how can one remember what one did? It is like remembering what happened during sleep, except perhaps recalling some bits of dreams sometimes. I feel that there is no such thing as meditation. Everyone is faking or claiming to be thought free during meditation. Only good thing is that those who meditate are quiet and often asleep which may be good by itself and have benficial effects in terms of conserving energy.

I am optimistic. Despite how things look now, with population growth, pollution etc, I think we will learn and create a better world for ourselves, though it may take alot of time.I don't believe we will exterminate ourselves through our excesses.
Population growth is slowing faster than expected in many countries.
