If I have about $1 million more, that would be okay. It would make life easier. If my wife had someone to take the kids so she could have time for herself during the day, that would be better. If the complaining faction at work would use their time on their tasks instead of complaining and blaming everyone else, that would be better. And I wish I was not overweight. And I wish my commute was about half as long. Other than that, I'm doing pretty good, so I cannot say it would be too much different from what it is. I like my life. I'm basically happy. I have two great kids and a great job. I love my wife and we are generally happy. There are some tough things, but if life were absolutely perfect, life would be boring.
Do you remember that scene in one of the Matrix movies when it is revealed that the first incarnations of the Matrix gave people in the Matrix perfect lives and that the people went soft and tended to die off. As such, by giving people challenging lives, the people tended to live longer (and therefore were a better source of battery for the matrix). Well, I think there is some truth to that. People need challenges or they get bored. As such, having an ideal life would not be ideal. I need some problems to make it enjoyable and to know what to appreciate.

My ideal life would look like this: I am omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, omnibenevolent, immutable, immaterial, atemporal, impassible, and simple.
How is it different from my actual life? Well, I'm none of those things presently.
