Why has Philosophy lost it's mathematical roots? The sign over Plato's academy read "none without the knowledge of Geometry may enter". It is my opinion that the lack of a mathematical requirement for Philosophy has given the field it's low respect in academia as shown with the disparity of grant funding to the sciences. Is there not as great a need today to investigate what is virtue as there was back then? Let's take our field back from those incapable of understanding geometry! Who's with me?

I am holding a blue pen in my hand, you can see it.I put the pen in a box. From where you are there is no evidence the pen has ever existed ,but for your memory. You know the pen is in the box.
The first Christians/Jews wrote the Bible from memory ,but yet we see no evidence of a God in our modern world,in timesof the holocaust and profit seeking war. Does this mean he is not here, have our memories been false? Or have they been manipulated for a diiffernt cause?Only we know what we know ,but how can you truly question others memory and indeed know there motives?
As freedom of thought has always been manipulated, initially by religion through religious text and now by multi-million pound corperatons through the media, can we even freely believe in anything, especially when our own politicians don't really stand for us. Generations are gradually getting inceasingly ignorant of the world we live in ,we can only ignore reality for a while before it slaps us in the face...ahhh!

And do we have the ability to justify ourselves? Or do we have to be justified by others? Basically, do we define our own reality, or does reality define us? For example: someone brought this up in an earlier question I posted (and I apologize if my questions all seem like I'm asking the same thing, but I'm trying to get to an answer for a research paper) For example: say a person is autistic. If that person in their own mind believes they are not autistic, but actually has a different way of seeing reality that the rest of society doesn't, how can society be justified rather than the individual? If I am but merely one person, a minority in comparision to the majority, where in a society, majority makes the justification of "truth" and "fact", then who is right? Does external sources justify what is "truth" or can we know "truth" within ourselves if we can't have justification of what we believe to be "true"?
